I’ve recently become a big fan of NetNewsWire for managing my RSS subscriptions on the Mac. It allows me to keep all my feeds in one neat application, meaning that I can check them when it suits me rather than have a constant barrage of Distractions popping up in Mail (my previous choice). It also syncs seamlessly with Google Reader, meaning I can now read items from anywhere by web or by mobile.
Also worth noting is MarsEdit which allows you to post to your blog from your Mac, and write offline too. Plus this integrates with NetNewsWire to allow quick linking and quoting from RSS feeds of interest.
You may well know about this, but if you don’t it takes 5 minutes to track extremely useful user analytics information, whilst they visit your website. Essential.
You might also want to take things further with Google’s Webmaster Tools.
Another fine collection of wonderful hard-working students have joined us this year. 8•)
